MOLINE, Ill. — A Quad City legend now has a key to Moline and a street named after him.
Bob Vogelbaugh, known as Mr. Thanksgiving, has held community meal giveaways on Thanksgiving Day for over 50 years. He was honored for those decades of service at the Moline City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
"I really owe it to the general public that feels comfortable coming. This isn't a charity dinner, never has been a charity dinner, never will be. It's all walks of life," Vogelbaugh said.
In addition to awarding him the key, the Moline City Council honored Vogelbaugh with a proclamation naming Nov. 28, 2024, as "Bob Vogelbaugh Day" during his 2024 meal giveaway.
