Have a non-meat eater attending your Thanksgiving party? Here's options you can serve

No more celery sticks, and plain salads. Before the Butcher explains some options you can have for those non-meat eaters for the holidays.

MOLINE, Ill. — Thanksgiving is a time to gather with loved ones and share appreciation for those around you. When you think of what to serve for the holiday you may first think of Turkey. What about those non-meat eaters?

Danny O'Malley, founder of Before the Butcher joined News 8's David Bohlman during Good Morning Quad Cities to talk about options for those non-meat eaters that can extend far beyond Thanksgiving.

Before the Butcher offers a, "diverse mix of delicious plant-based burger patties, grounds, chunks, shreds and more, seamlessly replace traditional meats in your favorite recipes" according to its website.

"I started Before the Butcher just over 6 years ago," O'Malley said. "What we were really trying to achieve and accomplish were offering more environmentally friendly products, healthier for you, better for the environment and obviously better for the animals, and these products are actually made to mimic animal-based protein".

You can find items like plant-based breakfast sausage which can be used to start your day, or spicy up taco night with the plant-based taco ground which imitates ground meat and beyond.

"The taste and the look and the texture of them are so similar to a regular hamburger, or a ground, or Italian ground or chorizo or chicken or beef, it's hard to tell the difference when you put it in a recipe." Said O'Malley.

Before the Butcher has also taken the guesswork out of how to prepare these products by providing recipes on its website.

You can buy Before the Butcher's products on their website or by visiting Whole Foods.
