If you go to the Iowa StateFair in August, you’ll be greeted with an assortment of new food options – and they’re not ALL deep-fried.
If you can’t get through a fair without deep-fried goodness, the new Double-Bacon Corn Dog might satisfy you. It features a bacon-wrapped hot dog dipped in bacon bit-enriched batter and deep fried.
Deep fried pickle dogs, Carribean-style crab fritters and new funnel cake flavors like German chocolate, carrot cake and blue sapphire will also be available.
If you’d rather have your treats covered in chocolate, you could try the chocolate-covered chocolate chip cookie dough pop on a stick or chocolate-covered cannolis on a stick.
Sweet-tooth satisfiers also include fruit crisps, gourmet s’mores and the Nothing Spared Fair Square, a concoction made with marshmallows, crisped rice cereal, pretzels, potato chips, Oreos, toffee and M&Ms candy.
There will be nearly 200 food stands at the 2012 Iowa State Fair including more than 50 items available on a stick.
