We're looking to pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who make a difference in their communities.

WQAD in partnership with Davenport Guns, Key Auto Mall, and MillTown Realty is accepting your nominations so we can highlight an officer in our area who goes "beyond the badge" to make a positive impact.

This honor is being given in memory of Detective Richard “Rick” Ryckeghem. Rick retired from the Moline Police Department.  His last position held there was as the Quad Cities Crime Stoppers Coordinator.   His focus throughout his career was to make a difference in the lives of the people he encountered.

All nominations will be judged with the following criteria in honor and memory of Rick:

  •  How is the officer making a difference in his/her community through his/her position within the police department?
  •  How is the officer promoting the partnership between the police department and the community in preventing or solving crimes?
  • How is the officer promoting trust and respect between himself/herself and the public?
  • How is the officer making a difference in his/her community while off duty?

Nominations can be submitted from June 17 through September 8, 2024.
Enter below by filling out the form.  Thank you.

The officer(s) selected will be featured on WQAD in the fall of 2024.
