Arconic eagles lay first egg of the season

A pair of eagles who have nested on the property of Arconic have laid their first egg of the season.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A pair of eagles who have nested on the property of Arconic have laid their first egg of the season.

The egg was laid Friday, March 6 around 1:30 p.m. If there's a second egg, it's expected that it would arrive either Sunday or Monday.

The eagles, Liberty and Justice, have been on the property since 2009.  Each season they bring new eagles into the world.  A camera, known as the Arconic Eagle Cam, is set up to allow people to enjoy the nature from a distance.

The seven-foot nest was constructed in a tree on Arconic's 500-acre facility near the Mississippi River.

The pair's first eagles were hatched during the spring of 2010.
