Ava Hedges joins Good Morning Quad Cities team as a full-time anchor

Ava anchors alongside Devin Brooks and meteorologist Andrew Stutzke Mondays through Fridays during GMQC at 4:30, 5 and 6 a.m.

MOLINE, Ill. — Ava Hedges has officially joined Good Morning Quad Cities as a full-time anchor.

Ava anchors alongside Devin Brooks and meteorologist Andrew Stutzke Mondays through Fridays during GMQC at 4:30, 5 and 6 a.m. She also anchors the 11 a.m. every other week, and when she’s not anchoring the 11, she’ll be working on stories as a reporter.

Ava started with WQAD in May of 2024 as a multi-skilled journalist. In her time here so far, she’s already worn many hats as a journalist, a producer and an anchor.

She hasn’t been here very long but says it’s been long enough to be sure that she wouldn’t want to start her career anywhere other than the Quad Cities.

Ava moved here all the way from Philadelphia after graduating from Temple University in December 2024. And while she misses cheesesteaks and Wawa convenience stores, she’s slowly adapting to bratwurst and Kwik Trips.

As a somewhat new member of the QCA, Ava is always looking for new coffee shops, breweries and restaurants to try.

Ava says that the most exciting thing about this new position is getting to be part of our viewers’ morning routine and hopes she can help the Quad Cities get out the door on the right foot, with the information they need. And most importantly, feeling good.
