Weekend rundown with WQAD & WLLR | Nov. 11-13

From Carrie Underwood performing at Vibrant Arena to an important fundraiser for East Moline police Sgt. William Lind, there's lots to do in the QCA this weekend.

MOLINE, Ill. — WQAD's Good Morning Quad Cities team has partnered with Dan and Pat from WLLR's Leuck & Howe Morning Show to bring you the weekend rundown!

Here's your weekend rundown for the weekend of Nov. 11-13.

Jazz Ambassadors:

The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army. Formed in 1969, this 19-member ensemble has received great acclaim at home and abroad performing America’s greatest original art form, jazz. 

The jazz group will perform at Davenport's Adler Theatre located at 136. East 3rd Street on Friday. 

Concerts by the Jazz Ambassadors are programmed to entertain all types of audiences. The band’s diverse repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals, and patriotic selections, many of which are written or arranged by members of the Jazz Ambassadors.

Carrie Underwood concert:

Country superstar Carrie Underwood, who made her singing debut on "American Idol," is coming to the Quad Cities on Saturday.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner will bring her 2022 "Denim & Rhinestones Tour" Saturday, Nov. 12 at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline.

The concert tour will feature performances from special guest Jimmie Allen, who competed in season 30 of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and earned his first Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist in 2022.

Sgt. William Lind Fundraiser:

The East Moline police sergeant is improving in Peoria after a violent October attack left him unconscious. Despite suffering a severe head injury, Lind has miraculously been moved to intermediate care. 

Bad Boy'z Pizza is hosting a fundraiser for Sergeant Lind next week. 20% of the sales made that day will go to his family. They will also accept additional donations for the Lind family.

Letters to Santa:

The City of Moline parks and recreation department says the mailbox is ready to go!

Bring your letters addressed to Santa to the Moline Public Works building (3635 4th Avenue) now through November 30. Santa will then take time to read and respond to each letter individually. Be sure to include your return address!
