MOLINE, Ill. — Join WQAD News 8 staff, Marines and volunteers in giving to the Toys for Tots campaign during a day-long station toy drive on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Crews will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, along with cash donations, in front of the WQAD studios, located at 3003 Park 16th St. in Moline just up the hill from South Park Mall.

Toys for Tots Quad Cities collect toys for children ages 6 months through 12 years old. In 2023, the program distributed more than 33,000 toys to more than 9,400 children in six counties.

How to apply for Toys for Tots

The online toy application is open through Saturday, Nov. 30. To apply online, click here and select "Request a Toy."

To be eligible to apply, a child must be between the ages of 6 months and 12 years old. After submitting this information online, an applicant must verify in person with the guardian ID and the children's birth certificates.

The in-person verification events will be held at 1 Montgomery Dr. in Moline (near the foot of the old KONE Tower). That period of verification will run through Nov. 30. Distribution dates will be assigned to confirmed applicants only, and those run from Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 13-14.
