Sharing events throughout the Quad Cities in this week's weekend rundown

There are many family-friendly events going on this weekend, and we've brought in Dani Howe from WLLR to break it down.

MOLINE, Ill. — The weekend is officially here, and WQAD and WLLR have your top events to check out for Jan. 19-21.

Good Morning Quad Cities' Andrew Stutzke and Devin Brooks were joined by WLLR's Dani Howe Thursday morning to go over the must-see events.

Here's your rundown:

LeClaire Eagle Festival

Every year, LeClaire hosts their annual eagle festival, celebrating one of our nation's most majestic birds. On Saturday, Jan. 20 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., you can get in on the fun watching ice carvers work their magic at Aunt Hattie's Fanciful Emporium. On Sunday, Jan. 21, there will be even more fun at the Mississippi River Distilling Co. & Celebration Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., ranging from chances to learn about eagles to even meeting one of the feathery friends in the flesh.

The event is totally free.

Car, Truck and Bike Show

Gearheads in the Quad Cities should mark their calendar for Jan. 19-21, as the QCCA Expo Center hosts a car, truck and bike show. You'll be able to get an up-close look at all sorts of classic and custom automobiles.

The event runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $8 for adults, $1 for kids between six and 16 years old and free for anyone younger than that.

Dueling Pianos Fundraiser

If you'd like to do some good while having fun this weekend, the Youth Service Bureau of Rock County is hosting their dueling piano fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Bally's Quad Cities Casino & Hotel. All the proceeds from the event go towards helping YSB's programming.

Doors open for the show at 6 p.m. Individual tickets are $50, and a table of ten costs $450. Call (309) 524-3212 or email cara.marske@ysbri.com to purchase tickets.

Winter Sowing Workshop

The "o" in "sowing" isn't a typo; at this workshop on Saturday, Jan. 20, you'll learn from an expert at the Nahant Marsh Education Center how to get your spring garden set up for success, even in the middle of winter. The session runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Registration is required in advance, and you can sign up for the workshop here. Tickets cost $12, and you'll need to bring an empty and clean gallon jug with you to work with.
