Rock Island's MLK Center handing out free Thanksgiving meals Nov. 17-19

The center aims to give away 5,000 Thanksgiving meals away this year.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The Martin Luther King Center in Rock Island is handing out free Thanksgiving meals on Nov. 17-19 for the 33rd year in a row.

Meals include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, and dessert.

Anyone is welcome to stop by the center for curbside service and ask for the number of meals they'd like. The MLK Center set a goal of giving away 5,000 plates of food this year.

Here's when you can pick up a meal:

  • Friday, Nov. 17 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Meals are also available at TMBC at the Lincoln Community Center in Davenport on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
