ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The Quad City Botanical Center opened a new exhibit Friday inspired by the storybooks we read as children.
It's one of the biggest single investments in the organization's history, according to a press release. Storybook Landscapes features a variety of interactive points to help people engage with nature in fun and meaningful ways.
With a shaded picnic area, a QCBC story-themed photo opportunity, flower talk tubes, a millhouse, a wishing well, a custom hut and acting area, a storyteller's chair, and more, the new exhibit is now open for the public to enjoy.
The opening of this new garden kicks off the 1,000 book giveaway for every level and different interests, including books in Spanish. Visitors can come to the Little Free Library wheelbarrow in the lobby for a free book.
