Get out to enjoy these Quad Cities events for Oct. 13-15, 2023

There are many family-friendly events going on this weekend, and we've brought in Dani Howe from WLLR to break it down.

MOLINE, Ill. — The weekend is officially here, and WQAD and WLLR have your top events to check out for Oct. 13-15.

Good Morning Quad Cities' David Bohlman and Devin Brooks were joined by WLLR's Dani Howe Thursday morning to go over the must-see events.

Here's your rundown:

"Boovies" at the Putnam Museum

Taking place this Friday, Oct. 13, families and Halloween movie enthusiasts can see their favorites up on the big screen in the Putnam's Giant Screen theater.

A short list of movies on the museum's schedule includes "Hocus Pocus," "Ghostbusters," and "Friday the 13th."

The Putnam does charge $10 for general admission and $9 for children and senior citizens.

Kinna's House of Love Coat Drive

Kinna's House of Love is hosting its annual coat drive on Saturday, Oct. 14 to provide low-income families with access to warmer clothes.

Volunteers will be outside taking new or gently used winter gear and monetary donations. Items they are requesting include:

  • Coats
  • Hats and earmuffs
  • Gloves and hand warmers
  • Winter socks and foot warmers
  • Scarves
  • Blankets and sleeping bags

Donations can be dropped off at 318 E. 7th St. in Davenport from 1 to 4 p.m.

Thursday Country Concerts

The Rust Belt in East Moline is hosting two free concert events this Thursday to help recognize and support veterans and first responders in our area.

The first concert is at 1 p.m. with Austin Wahlert and Liza Jo, both of whom will perform country music that will be offered to more sensory-friendly fans. Then Wahlert and Jo will take the stage again at 7 p.m. for the general public to attend.

The Rust Belt does recommend people to reserve their tickets for these concerts, however will not turn anyone away.
