15th annual Floatzilla: The largest paddle event on the Mississippi is back

River Action invites kayakers and canoeists to break the Guinness World Record for the largest flotilla.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Update: A previous version of this story said the conference would happen at the Marquette Street Boat Launch. Due to the weather, it has been moved to the Quad City Times building.

Floatzilla is back in action with a campaign to break the Guinness World Record for the largest flotilla during the 15th annual Floatzilla event. 

To kick off their event, River Action will host a news conference on May 14 at 10 a.m. at the Quad City Times building where they will go over new initiatives for Floatzilla 2024 beginning Saturday, August 16 and ending the next day, August 17.

Information to be discussed at the conference will be:

  • Live Music
  • Vendor Lineup
  • Expanded festivities
  • Return of iconic merchandise
  • Giveaways and contests
  • How Floatzilla will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge

Launch Sites for the Float on Aug. 16

  • 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Empire Park 
  • 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Leach Park
  • 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bass Street YMCA
  • 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lindsay Park Yacht Club
  • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Marquette Street
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Credit Island
