DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Figge Art Museum will host an art auction, "Art Off the Wall," accommodating a variety of art collectors on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
More than 100 pieces will be put up for auction, with more than a quarter donated by Quad Cities artists. Other pieces are sourced from private regional collections, including paintings, ceramics, antiques, photographs, sculptures and jewelry.
The event is intended to cater to new art appreciators and seasoned collectors alike. Some items have bids starting as low as $50.
Snacks and mimosas will be provided at the auction. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the Figge's website. Anyone who can't attend the event can still participate in a raffle for a vase made by Quad Cities artist Steve Sinner, valued at more than $500. Raffle tickets are priced at $10 for one ticket, $25 for three tickets and $40 for five tickets, and they're available at the Figge's website.
“Art Off the Wall provides a unique and affordable opportunity for anyone who loves art to acquire exciting pieces, but it also plays a vital role in supporting the Figge’s mission of bringing art and people together,” said Figge Director of Development Patrick Downing. “We are excited to see our community come together to celebrate the beauty of art and build a stronger connection to our museum.”
Proceeds from the auction and raffle will go to the Figge's various programs, including educational outreach and traveling exhibitions.
