MOLINE, Ill. — Jenna joined the WQAD team in January 2024 after graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in sports media relations.

At EIU, she was heavily involved in student media, taking on the roles of sports and news anchor for the nightly live newscast at WEIU News Watch. Jenna was also the cartoonist at EIU's newspaper! Her educational background helped her grow a passion for covering local content, especially relating to sports. Jenna has known since middle school she wanted to go into sports broadcasting, but college helped solidify that.

Jenna is always asked what her favorite sport is to cover, and so far she's found elements that she likes of all of them! She is always amazed by the level of athleticism every sport takes. One of Jenna's favorite parts of her job is getting to go out in the field and shoot sports. She has a passion for videography and loves that she gets to dive into that frequently.

Besides her job, Jenna has multiple other passions and hobbies! She's played the alto saxophone since 6th grade and was a section leader in the marching band at EIU. Music has always been a big part of her life. Jenna also loves to draw, paint, read, take care of her plants, and hang out with her friends. She loves being busy and finding creative ways to express herself! She loves doing something new every day - which is a big reason she loves being a sports reporter.

Jenna is happy to continue growing each day at WQAD, and couldn't be more grateful for the support in the Quad Cities.
