Devin Brooks joined WQAD as a multi-skilled journalist and anchor in May of 2021. He anchors the morning show, Good Morning Quad Cities. He was a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter before mornings. Devin has also been assigned to the Pay It Forward, SOAR Scholarship, and Jefferson Awards segments during his time at WQAD.
Devin is from St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated with his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University (WIU) at the Macomb, Illinois campus in 2021.
Becoming a journalist has been his dream since he was a kid. While in college, Devin covered the WIU campus shooting that happened in September of 2020. He has also interviewed the family of fallen Illinois State Police Trooper Gerald "Jerry" Ellis and the parents of Tyler Smith who was found dead in Galesburg. Devin has won multiple regional and national awards for his reporting in college.
He looks forward to learning about the Quad Cities Area and being out in the community.
