MOLINE, Ill. — Art Mireles has been a Photojournalist for WQAD since September of 2024.
He comes from a military family and served in the US Army Infantry. His interest in Photojournalism was rekindled after being featured in a combat documentary called The Fighting Season (Ricky Schroeder, 2015). After his service, Art went back to school to learn the fundamentals of Documentary Filmmaking and aspired to be a photojournalist.
He is now living the dream of working as a Photojournalist. On his off-time Art enjoys weightlifting, cinema, all sorts of music, and live comedy.
