DAVENPORT, Iowa -- A van collided with a police squad car on Locust Street, sending the officer to the hospital.
The crash was reported around 10 a.m. Monday, October 7 in the 2800 block of West Locust Street, north of the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.
The driver of the van was coming out of Jebens Avenue and turned east onto Locust Street, hitting a Davenport police officer's squad. According to a trooper on scene, the van driver couldn't see beyond a bus that was blocking her view and hit the squad broadside.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to the trooper on scene. The van driver was unharmed.
Both vehicles were severely damaged.
