Boil order continues for some Hampton residents

UPDATE: A boil order in Hampton continues for residents that live below the hill.

According to the Village Clerk, one water sample failed a test and the boil advisory was forced to remain in place.


HAMPTON, Illinois — Part of the Village of Hampton is under a boil order after several water main breaks within a week.

As of Wednesday morning, September 25, residents at the corner of 6th and 8th Avenues are affected along Hubbard Road.

Crews were headed out for repairs around 8:45 a.m., according to the Village Clerk, Michelle Reyes.  Someone from Illinois Rural Water was planning to assess the situation.
