Familiar faces claim victory at 22nd annual QC Marathon

Quad City Marathon results are in!

Results from the Quad Cities marathon are in and they might seem familiar to those who've paid attention to the even over the years.

With the day's races concluded, the marathon released the winners of its events. 

In the men's race, Kenyan runner Philemon Kiplangat Terer won his third title with a time of 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 17 seconds, 77 seconds faster than the runner-up.

The women's race was dominated by Ethiopia's Hirut Guangul, who claimed her fifth victory with a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 34 seconds, nearly 3 whole minutes ahead of the next runner.  She has won every she has entered in the event.

The 26.2 mile race was held with a mild temperature of 70 degrees, high humidity, and near-constant rain, changing the dynamic of the race than what most are likely used to.

In the half-marathon category, Napervile, Illinois runner Collin Mickow set a new record of 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 17 seconds to take the gold. The women's champion, Jane Bareikis of Crestwood, Illinois, wasn't too far behind, with a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes, and 20 seconds.

The best local runners in the marathon were Davenport's Tristan Coughlin with 2 hours, 38 minutes, and 59 seconds with the best local woman, Elizabeth Ludine, also of Davenport, finishing in 3 hours, 23 minutes, and 55 seconds.
