A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol identified the driver as 19-year-old Angel Domingo Ochoa.  During the pursuit, Ochoa ran a red light as he headed westbound on Kimberly Road.  He wound up hitting another vehicle, driven by 48-year-old Lori Ann Letts.

"That pursuit did come south to Division to Kimberly Road where it went westbound and at the intersection of Fairmount," said Major Jeff Bladel with the Davenport Police Department. "The vehicle being pursued did cross the center line and strike another vehicle."

Iowa State Patrol said Letts was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ochoa and an 18-year-old passenger were both taken to a nearby hospital, according to the crash report.

Jail records show that Ochoa was charged with homicide by vehicle, interference with official acts and serious injury by vehicle.  He was booked into the Scott County Jail around 7:15 p.m.

Police said nobody involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.

Traffic was diverted at Kimberly Road and Hickory Grove Road after the crash.  Bladel said the intersection was closed for several hours after the crash.
