Mardi Gras is coming up on Tuesday, March 5th and we are getting you ready!

mardi gras three

On Friday, March 1st during Nailed It Or Failed It on Good Morning Quad Cities and News 8 at 11am, we made our own version - King Cake Bites! All you need are crescent rolls, cinnamon, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and lemon juice. Click here to see the recipe and click the video above to see if we NAILED IT or FAILED IT.

While our King Cake Bites baked, we put to use our Mardi Gras beads. You can really do anything with these. Wrap them around a wine bottle, make a spiral and glue them to foam to make a coaster, etc. Click the video below to see our creations (in progress!) and to see how our King Cake Bites turned out:

Cocktail of the Week

hurricanes

You'll need to purchase the hurricane mix ahead of time. We got ours on Amazon...and if you hurry today, you can have some by Fat Tuesday!

Following package directions, you'll mix half of the dry mix with one half gallon of fresh, cold water. You'll shake vigorously and then add the rest of the water.

To each 28 ounce glass, add 4 ounces of your favorite dark rum, then garnish with an orange slice. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
