Man injured in overnight shooting near Palmer College in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- An overnight shooting at a home near Palmer College left a Davenport man injured.

The shooting happened around 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department.  A 22-year-old man was found injured in a home in the 800 block of Pershing Avenue, east of Palmer College.

Police said the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators found that an assault inside the home escalated to the shooting.
