CLINTON, Iowa- Adam Cain, the Clinton firefighter who sustained life threatening injuries fighting a fire in grain-silo fire is out of critical care.
He was removed from Intensive Care Unit on Friday, January 18, according to a statement from Clinton City Administrator Matt Brooke. He was then moved into the Intermediate Care Unit. By Sunday Cain was able to walk 100 feet in physical therapy and on Monday he was working on simulating stairs.
Cain has been in the hospital recovering since January 5. He recently had surgery and is breathing on his own.
Another surgery for one of his arms has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 23, according to Brooke.
"Adam is doing well and is in good spirits," Brooke said.
Cain's family is asking people to the the community and Adam in their thoughts and prayers.
