MUSCATINE, Iowa- Police have identified the woman they found dead along the side of Highway 38.
According to a statement from the Muscatine County Sheriff's Office, the woman was identified as 20-year-old Lea Renae Ponce from Fairfield, Iowa.
Muscatine Sheriff C.J. Ryan previously said that on January 8, around 1 a.m. police found the woman just north of county road F70 (155th St). Police shut down the highway in order to investigate further.
An autopsy was conducted Wednesday, January 9. The sheriff's department said those results were not yet available.
