Cities and villages around the Quad Cities are declaring snow emergencies ahead of Sunday’s projected snowfall. Check back to see if your city is added to the list.
Albany, Illinois — A snow emergency is in effect from 7 a.m. Sunday, November 25 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 27. Calendar parking will be in effect. Neighbors are asked to remove garbage cans from roads so plows can remove snow.
Andalusia, Illinois — A snow emergency was in effect until 10 a.m. Monday. Parking on village streets was prohibited.
Burlington, Iowa — A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Burlington. A parking prohibition is in effect on all snow routes in the city.
Clinton, Iowa — A snow emergency is in effect from 6 a.m. Sunday, November 25th until 7 a.m. Tuesday, November 27th. Vehicles that have not been removed from city streets by 7 p.m. on Sunday may be ticketed or towed. Calendar parking is in effect.
Garbage pickup and recycling will be delayed because of the snowstorm. All collection days will be pushed back one day.

Coal Valley, Illinois — A snow emergency is in effect starting at midnight Saturday, November 24 until 5 p.m. Monday, November 26. Parking is prohibited on village streets, avenues, alleys, cul-de-sacs or parking lots when there’s more than two inches of snow. Violators may be towed.
Davenport, Iowa — A snow emergency is in effect starting 6 a.m. Sunday, November 25 through 5 p.m. Monday, November 26. Parking on snow routes is prohibited during a snow emergency. Vehicles in violation may be ticketed or towed.
Motorists can park for free in any of the city’s three parking ramps from 5 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Monday.
Durant, Iowa — A snow emergency is in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday, November 25 until 10 a.m., Monday, November 26. There is no parking permitted on city streets.
East Moline, Illinois — A snow emergency is in place until 8 a.m. Tuesday. All vehicles must be moved from designated snow routes.
Galesburg, Illinois — The City of Galesburg has declared a snow emergency for 2pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018. All parked vehicles must be removed from the roadway by that time for plowing.
Geneseo, Illinois — Geneseo’s snow emergency is in effect from Sunday, November 25th at noon until Monday, November 26th at 8 a.m. Residents are asked to NOT park on any city streets in Geneseo. Click here to see more city ordinance reminders for snowfall.
Muscatine, Iowa — A snow emergency is in effect starting at noon.

Streets that normally park on both sides of the street will be subject to “alternate side of the street” parking during a snow emergency. Parking is permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street only on odd days (Sunday and Tuesday) with parking permitted on the even-numbered side only on even days (Monday). Vehicles in violation are subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
Streets that normally have parking on just one side of the street also have parking restrictions with even-side parking permitted on even-numbered days but not on odd-numbered days, and odd-side parking permitted on odd-numbered days but not on even-numbered days.
The transition time between the first and second day of a “Snow Emergency” is from 12-8 a.m. with enforcement of the second “Snow Emergency” day beginning at 8 a.m.
Morrison, Illinois — A snow emergency has been declared starting early Sunday morning at midnight. This means parking on snow routes is prohibited, until snow has been removed from the full width of the street. Odd and even parking restrictions are in effect on all other city streets. On odd days of the week, park on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses, and vice versa for even days. Violators will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
Parking restrictions will end when all snow has been removed, or when the city cancels it.
Homeowners are asked to help postal workers and neighbors by shoveling sidewalks and clearing snow around hydrants in your area.
Rock Island, Illinois — A snow emergency was issued for 8 a.m. Sunday, November 25. Parking is prohibited on marked snow routes once snow reaches two inches. Vehicles parked on marked snow routes may be ticketed or towed.
Starting at 3 a.m., Monday, there will be no on-street parking allowed.
Sterling, Illinois — A snow emergency was issued for 7 a.m. Sunday, November 25. Parking is prohibited on snow routes until all snow has been removed. Parking is not allowed in the Central Business District and city parking lots from 1:30 a.m. until 5:30 a.m. Odd and even parking restrictions were set in place for all other streets. Violators may be ticketed or towed.
