15-year-old, five other teens arrested after physical assault, car chase in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Four teenage boys and two teenage girls are in custody after a reported robbery and police chase Tuesday, October 16.

The chase started at about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, after a man was robbed and assaulted near 10th Street and Pershing Avenue by at least two people, according to the Davenport Police Department.  The man said they two stole his belongings as one physically assaulted him and the other threatened to shoot him; there was no weapon displayed.

Police said when they tried to confront the suspects, they took off and entered into a pursuit.

The chase came to an end 20 minutes later Tuesday night near Perry and 4th Street downtown, police said. All six teens were taken into custody.  There were two 17-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy, two 16-year-old girls and a 15-year-old boy.

A squad car and the suspect vehicle sustained moderate damages.  One had to be towed, according to a spokesperson from the Davenport Police Department.

It was determined that the suspect vehicle was stolen out of Davenport earlier in the day, police said.
