Here are several events happening in October and why you might want to check them out!

QUAD CITIES- Halloween may only be one day in October but that doesn't mean fun and spooky events aren't going on all month long!

If you're in the mood for some Halloween themed fun WQAD has you covered.

 WQAD will add more to this post as events are announced throughout the month. Check back often.

Here are several events happening in October and why you might want to check them out!

Events are grouped together by the city.

Greater Bettendorf Community Foundation's Halloween Parade

BETTENDORF- The Greater Bettendorf Community Foundation's Halloween Parade is Saturday, October 27, 2018, beginning at 7 p.m.

The parade will begin at the intersection of 23rd St & Middle Rd, and continues onto Spruce Hills Dr. The procession will travel to 18th St, turning left onto 18th St, continuing to Middle Rd, turning left on Middle Rd, and finishing at the entrance of the Life Fitness parking lot.

On Wednesday, October 31 from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m., City Hall will open its doors for a special Trick or Treat experience! Open to all costumed children up to age 5 each department will be decorated and handing out treats!

Bettendorf’s Trick or Treat is Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 5-7:30 p.m

When: October 27, 2018, beginning at 7 p.m.

Where: the intersection of 23rd St & Middle Rd

Uptown Trick or Treat:

ROCK FALLS- The businesses of Uptown Rock Falls and The Rock Falls Chamber invite children and their families to Trick or Treat in Uptown Rock Falls on Friday, October 26th from 4:00-6 p.m. (Hours have been extended)

Businesses and organizations from the area offer games, activities, and festive fun, all in a safe environment! Kids can come dressed in their Halloween costumes and fill up their buckets with tons of FREE candy and treats.

"The route for Uptown Trick or Treat is along 1st Avenue, 2nd Street, and 3rd Street. Weather dependent, around 1,000 people fill the streets of Rock Falls dressed in their Halloween costumes. This is a growing event with more participants and businesses every year! Look for signs and scarecrows in the windows of participating businesses."

When: Friday, October 26th from 4:30-6 p.m.

Where: 1st Avenue, 2nd Street, and 3rd Street.

First-Ever Family Halloweekend Welcomes Community to Camp Liberty:

NEW LIBERTY - On Saturday, October 27, Camp Liberty, just outside the Quad Cities, is hosting Family Halloweekend for the entire community! The Girl Scout camp will open to celebrate Halloween with a haunted hike and “tent-or-treating” for kids. Families can enjoy hiking miles of trails, fishing at Flint Lake, and geocaching across the property.

"Zipline, archery, climbing wall, and canoeing will also be open for anyone who meets the age-specific requirements. Tickets for an additional fee will be available for hayrack rides, pumpkin chucking, pony rides, and a caramel apple bar. This event is a great opportunity for families to get outdoors and enjoy camp activities with a spooky twist. Family Halloweekend is October 27 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Camp Liberty, 4415 295th Street, New Liberty, Iowa. All community members are welcome! Pre-registration is available until October 21 at http://www.GirlScoutsToday.org. Cost is $5/attendee. Walk-ins welcome! For more information, call 800-798-0833."

Fall Fun Day at the Davenport Library

DAVENPORT- The Fun isn’t over when Davenport’s Halloween Parade ends! After the parade, stop by Main on Saturday, October 27 beginning at 2:30 p.m. for the annual Fall Fun Day. Play games, make crafts and lots more! Come and celebrate the season!

When: Saturday, October 27, 2:30 p.m.

Where: 321 Main Street

Davenport Halloween Parade

The annual Davenport Halloween Parade is Saturday, October 27 at 2 p.m. in downtown Davenport.

There is no parking on the parade route beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 27 until the end of the parade.  The city says vehicles parked on the parade route will be towed.

Special Needs Trick or Treat

Davenport- District Wide Davenport PTO is hosting the Special Needs Trick or Treat at the Bettendorf AEA building on Friday, October 26, from 6-8 p.m.

The event is geared to be fun for all by having treats that are food allergy alternatives. They say the building is wheelchair accessible and the event is trauma aware. Vendors are asked to not wear costumes that are common triggers for those with PTSD or a history of trauma.

This means no police, clowns, weapons, blood, mascots etc. A quiet room will be available for anyone who needs a break and there is NO age limit.

Free and open to the public.

When: Friday, October 26, from 6-8 p.m.

Where:  Bettendorf AEA building

Tickets: Free and open to the public
