Pedestrian struck by vehicle and killed in Rock Island, name released

The accident happened between Ted’s Boatarama and Johannes Bus Service.

UPDATE 2: ROCK ISLAND, Illinois -- The Rock Island Coroner has released the name of the victim, Larry Raymond, 63, of Milan.

UPDATE 1:  A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday, Sept. 11 between Ted's Boatarama and Johannes Bus Service.

The person was struck by a westbound 2017 Ford F450.

The victim was transported to Unity Point Health, Rock Island. Police have confirmed that they died due to their injuries.

The name of the person will be released after an autopsy by the Rock Island County Coroner’s Office.

EARLIER: Lt. Tim Steines said police responded to the call at 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the 100 block of 31st Avenue. This road is currently closed while they investigate the accident.

Steines said a vehicle hit a male pedestrian, who was then transported to Trinity in Rock Island. His status has not been released at this time.
