Deceased 23-year-old found in Moline identified

Moline police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old male whose body was found on the ground outside a home on 16th St. in Moline on Monday morning.

UPDATE: Authorities have identified the 23-year-old man whose body was found outside a home on 16th Street in Moline on Monday, June 18 as Taylor M. Kirklin of Moline.

Rock Island Coroner Brian Gustafson said there were no injuries or signs of trauma on Kirklin's body and that the cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy was performed Monday morning. Gustafson has ordered a toxicology report to be conducted and results should be available in a week or two.

Moline police say Kirklin's death is not related to a shooting that occurred the same evening, near the Belgrade tavern on 16th Street.

EARLIER: MOLINE, Illinois -- Moline police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old male whose body was found on the ground outside a home in the 2600 block of 16th St. and 26th Ave. early Monday, June 18th morning.

An autopsy is being performed this morning in Oregon, Illinois to determine the cause of his death.

A portion of 26th Ave. has been blocked off. 16th Street is still open.
