MOLINE, Illinois - A strike has been avoided, and students should prepare to be in class on Monday at Black Hawk College.
The Black Hawk College board and teachers have reached a tentative contract agreement, according the college's public relations director.
According to a press release from IFT/AFT Union spokesperson Acie Earl, the agreement will be presented to the union membership for a vote on Monday, April 2. Pending approval of this agreement by the union, it is expected that the Board of Trustees will vote on the agreement in a special session on Monday evening.
“We are hopeful that the approval of this tentative agreement will allow the college and staff to continue to provide a quality education and excellent services for our students” said Acie Earl.
Right now, we do not know the terms or the duration of the new contract.
