UPDATE: Man arrested after leading Police on a high speed chase while three kids were in the car

Three small children were in the car during the chase.

Update:

Queshan Harris (1)

Davenport Police say they were sent to the area near the Centennial Bridge after a 2003 gold Chevrolet Suburban fled from Rock Island Police.

Davenport Police located the car near the 1400 block of North Harrison Street, but the vehicle fled. Police say the father of the three children inside the car got out and ran from police.

That is when 22-year-old Queshan Harris of Davenport, who police say is an uncle of the three children in the car, led police on a high speed chase through the city. At times the pursuit reached speeds of up to 60 MPH.

At one point, the chase ended when Harris abandoned the car and the children and fled from police.

Harris was later found in a garage nearby and was taken into custody.

The children, ages one, six, and eleven, were not hurt and are now with a relative.

Harris is charged with two misdemeanors. They are child endangerment and interference with official acts.  He is out on bond right now.

It is unclear right now if the father of the three children who fled the scene was arrested.
