Update: The drivers involved in the Friday, March 22 crash on River Drive have been identified.
The driver of the Chevrolet Blazer that crossed the center line and struck a Nissan Sentra was identified as 35-year-old Jenilee Walsh of Davenport. She faces citations for driving left of center and no seat belt.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra was identified as 59-year-old John Davis of Colorado. He does not face citations.
The driver of a Chevrolet Impala that was struck by the Blazer has been identified as 18-year-old Annastacia Herrera of East Moline. She is charged with reckless driving, speeding, no seat belt, and possession of a controlled substance.
The driver of a Ford F-150 that crashed into the back of the Sentra following the crash was driven by 37-year-old Melanie O’Brien of Maysville, Iowa. She faces no citations.
Earlier: DAVENPORT, Iowa — A four-car crash at E. River Dr. and Mississippi Ave. temporarily shutdown traffic along a part of River Dr. on Thursday, March 22 morning.
Three of the four drivers were transported to Genesis East Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
A Chevrolet Blazer had been traveling west on E. River Dr. when it crossed the center line and struck, head-on, an eastbound Nissan Sentra.
After crashing into the Sentra, the Blazer then also struck a Chevrolet Impala head-on, which had been traveling east behind the Sentra.
The Sentra was also struck by a Ford F-150 that was directly behind it and unable to stop in time to avoid the crash.
The driver of the F-150 was the only one who was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation by the Davenport Traffic Safety Unit and charges are pending.
Westbound traffic on River Dr. has re-opened this morning after the crash had previously shut it down, according to Davenport Police.
