MOLINE, Illinois -- One person sustained a minor injury after an apartment building caught fire Wednesday evening, December 20th.
Timber Ridge Apartments, located in the 2100 block of 18th Avenue caught fire around 5:15 p.m. The fire appeared to be coming from a second floor apartment.
According to the Moline Fire Department, the first crew that arrived said fire was coming from apartment windows. After the fire was knocked down, crews stayed on scene all night and into the morning watching for hot spots.
Around 70 residents were displaced. The fire department said residents were helped back into the apartment to gather their belongings before being taken to a Red Cross shelter.
The cause of the fire was unknown as of Thursday, December 21st. It's estimated that $150,000 in damages were done from fire, smoke and water.
