UPDATE:

The East Moline Fire Chief Curt Frerichs says one person was inside the house at the time of the fire, and was awaken by a passerby who saw the flames on the outside of the house.

That person was able to make it out safely with no injuries.

Chief Frerichs believes the fire started on the outside of the house, then moved into the attic.

Estimated costs for the damage right now is roughly 30 thousand dollars.

No word on what started the fire at this time.
