Davenport City Council approves purchase of body cameras for police department

DAVENPORT -- The Davenport City Council passed a resolution approving a $550,000 purchase of body cameras for officers to wear in the line of duty.

There will be 140 body cameras implemented within the next few years.

Officers asked for the body cams in hopes of being more transparent with the public.
