Home invasion reported on north-end of Colona overnight

COLONA, Illinois -- A home invasion was reported in a neighborhood on the north side of town overnight.

Police were called to a duplex on 4th Street near 2nd Avenue around 5 a.m. Monday, July 24, according to a statement from the Colona Police Department. It was reported that two black men broke into the home and then fled on foot.

The men were described as standing at medium height and wearing black clothes, police said.

A WQAD News 8 crew on scene noted that around 7:30 a.m. Colona Police and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene investigator were on scene.
