Gas line struck north of Douglas Park in Rock Island

ROCK ISLAND — ¬†Crews are on scene where a gas line was hit north of Douglas Park.

A spokesperson from MidAmerican Energy confirmed that the gas line was hit Thursday afternoon, July 20th in the 900 block of 14th Avenue.

As of 2:20 p.m. crews were on scene working to repair the gas line.

Seven homes were impacted and the gas was shut off to the area, according to MidAmerican. Repairs were expected to be complete by 8 p.m.

Any roads that were closed off were reopened during the afternoon.
