MILAN- Westbound lanes on Interstate 280 were partially closed for a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday evening, June 13th.
The collision started at Mile Marker 15 when a Mazda 6 drifted over the left shoulder and into the median, according to a statement from the Illinois State Police. The driver overcorrected to the right, crossing a lane and hitting a semi. The semi then went into a ditch.
As the Mazda was spinning in the roadway, it was hit by another semi, the statement said. A Lexus sedan driving nearby tried to avoid the vehicles and ended up hitting the first semi.
Officials said the drivers of the Lexus and the Mazda were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
All of the traffic was back up and running by 11:30 p.m.
