Iowa and Illinois residents experienced multiple rounds of Tornado Warnings, the first of which were issued this afternoon, May 17, at 4:30 p.m and continued into the night.

Henry, Jefferson, Van Buren, and Washington counties in Iowa were the first areas affected as the storm continued to move towards the Quad Cities area.

Once through the Muscatine area, the storm seemed to lose it’s punch and the Tornado Warnings were downgraded to watches.

The break didn’t last long.

The second round of warnings were issued at 6:30 p.m. and lasted until the storm made it’s way through Henry County in Illinois.

The Tornado Warnings expired around 9 p.m.

A play-by-play of this evening’s events can be seen below.
