Davenport victim shot several times, shooter arrested

A Davenport man is charged with murder in the first degree following a shooting Friday evening, Feb. 17.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport man is charged with murder in the first degree following a shooting Friday evening, Feb. 17.  Davenport police say they received a call about shots fired just before 10 p.m. at 625 E Locust Street.

Lasabian Walker, 33, of Rock Island, had suffered gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

David Levy Jr., 27, is charged in Walker's death. The criminal complaint alleges that  Levy showed up to the home armed with a loaded handgun and began arguing with Walker and a female in the front yard. Levy shot Walker several times.

Witnesses were able to identify to Levy to police. The handgun was found by police.

Levy is held in the Scott County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

A portion of Locust Street was closed Friday evening while police investigate.
