You’ve seen dozens, maybe hundreds of Christmas movies in your life, but which one is your go-to year after year?

For most Illinois residents, “Home Alone” is their favorite. And for Iowans, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”  Based on the top-rated movies from American Movie Classics and a cross-check with Google Trends, television blog has found favorites across the whole country.

The most popular Christmas movie across the Midwest is in line with Iowa, “Christmas Vacation.”

You’ll find a unique choice on the map on the east coast. Connecticut’s favorite is none other than “Christmas in Connecticut.” And Maine is alone in favoring “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
