Sunshine today was not enough to warm temperatures as daytime highs only reached around the 20 degree mark.  In fact, the first of two arctic waves will be the highlight for this week.

The first is on schedule to arrive for the first half of the work week with the front passing through around midnight.  This will allow temperatures to plummet around the 10 degree mark.  A good brisk wind with the passage of this front will also drop wind chills around zero by sunrise, Tuesday.

Highs both Tuesday and Wednesday will only be in the teens with wind chills either at or below zero.  The coldest of the air will be felt on Thursday with highs not even getting out of the single digits and wind chills as cold as -20 degrees.

Temperatures will improve heading into the weekend as the next weather system pulls in from the west.  This will carry another round of moisture..likely more snowfall, with some spots seeing a rain/snow mix.  I’ll keep you posted.  This will then follow another plunge in temperatures.
