DAVENPORT, Iowa — Dozens of third graders went on a one of a kind field trip on Friday morning, Dec. 9. Students in the Davenport and Rock Island Milan school districts got to see Ballet Quad Cities perform the Nutcracker live.

It was a sold out show and teacher say the experience helps kids understand the importance of arts.

"I feel it's very important to give them a well-rounded arts education and we are very fortunate here in the Quad Cities to have Ballet of the Quad Cities to give us these experiences," said Mara Goodvin, music teacher.

The Davenport School Foundation and John Deere Corporation Citizenship provided the tickets for all of the students.
