EAST MOLINE, Illinois -- Residents were displaced and a dog died after a fire was reported at a home on Avenue of the Cities.
The fire was, in the 700 block of Avenue of the Cities, was reported around 10:15 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016.
Firefighters spent about 20 minutes getting the fire under control, according to the East Moline Fire Chief. Three people live there, but nobody was home at the time.
Damage to the inside of the home had not yet been assessed, but crews were reportedly forced to tear up some of the siding on the side of the home as they worked to control the fire.
There was no word yet on what caused the fire or where it started.
