FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say the bodies of a woman and a dog were found on the shoreline of a lake in suburban Chicago.

Officers were called Saturday afternoon, Nov. 26, to Nippersink Lake in Fox Lake. Battalion Chief Tom Preibis of the Fox Lake Fire Protection District says divers went into the water and the bodies were placed into bags.

Police say they believe it’s an isolated incident which poses no threat to the community.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.

The Lake County coroner’s office says an autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
