DAVENPORT, Iowa-- Thanksgiving Dinner came early to people at the Handicapped Development Center Friday, November 18.

The event has been sponsored by the Davenport Police Association for more than 30 years, as a way to give back to the people in the community.

"It's really nice for the police to come every year, we kind of get a chance to socialize with them. They get to know us, they get to know the folks that we serve here  because we have so many people out in the community," says Carol Foster, vice president of resources development at the HDC.

The Davenport Police Association will also host their annual trivia night Friday, November 18, at the Knights of Columbus in Davenport.

Proceeds made from trivia night will also go towards the department's Christmas Toy Drive for the domestic violence shelter.
