Pedestrian hit on East Locust Street in Davenport

UPDATE: The pedestrian struck on E. Locust Street in Davenport on Wednesday, Nov. 9 died Saturday as result of injuries sustained in the crash. The victim’s name was Michael Elleson, 26, of Iowa City.


DAVENPORT, Iowa — A person walking on Locust Street was hit by a vehicle, police say.

A vehicle driving westbound in the north-most lane on East Locust hit a pedestrian in the 800 block, according to a statement from the Davenport Police Department. It happened shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, just a couple blocks east of Grand Avenue.

The pedestrian was seriously injured, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, police said.

Names are not being released at this time.
