ROCK ISLAND, Illinois-- Rock Island County Republicans took advantage of their weekly breakfast meeting at City Limits Saloon and Grill in Rock Island, to celebrate their win after the 2016 General Elections Tuesday, November 8.

The group usually takes this time to discuss growing political concerns and up coming events. This time around though, it was nothing  but laugh smiles and hand shakes not only celebrating Trump but other GOP officials like Tony McCombie's win over Mike Smiddy for Illinois, House of Representatives in the 71st district .

RICO Chairman, Bill Bloom says the next step forward for the group is to start rebuilding relationships within the party that may have been lost during the elections, and getting back to the values that united them in the first place.

"They want to live in a safe neighborhood, they want to have a good job or the opportunity to have a good job. They want their kids to have an opportunity for equality and to live a life that`s better than the life they lived," he says.

Bloom says the next step for the Rock Island County Republicans is to boost fundraising efforts to make up for the money spent to support the party during the elections and to push efforts to attract more young people to the party.
