School in Erie cancelled due to water line break

ERIE, Illinois — School was cancelled for Monday, November 7, 2016 because of a water line break in the village.

The Erie Community Unit School District #1 posted about the cancellation on both the school’s website, and on their Facebook page.  The post said that the campus was without water.

There was no word yet on when the water service would be restored.

This post will be updated as more information becomes available.

The closure comes just about a week after classes were cancelled for mold cleanup in the district.
